Folder View Panel

The Folder View Panel displays all the Folders and/or Files in a selected Folder in the current Project, and is where a majority of the File and Folder Management takes place. By default, the Folders and Files are displayed in alphabetical order, with Folders being displayed first.

 

> To view the Folder View Panel, open the Project Folder Page in a Project by click on a Folder Name in the Folder Tree Panel, or the Latest Additions Panel. The Folder View Panel will appear on the right.

 

Folder View Panel

 

The Folder View Panel contains the following elements:

  1. Panel Header The Panel Header is the light grey area at the top of the Panel. It consists of:
    1. Folder Name The name of the open Folder
    2. Send Folder Button On the right side of the Panel Header is the Send Folder button. Click to send a Presentation of the currently open Folder
    3. Upload Button To the right of the Senf Folder Button is the Upload Button. Click to Upload Files into the open Folder.
  2. Menubar The Menubar consists of the following elements, all of which are used in conjunction with the checkboxes next to the Folders and Files displayed in the Folder & File Display:
    1. Select All Checkbox When checked, the Select All checkbox at the far left of Menubar will select all the Folders and Files displayed on the page at that moment, which may or may not be the entire contents of the Folder. If you have more than one page of contents, in order to select all the items in the Folder using the Select All checkbox you must change the Per Page Dropdown (see Display Options below) to a high enough number to list all the contents at once.
    2. Download Button Click to initiate the Download of all Folders and Files selected from the display below
    3. Move Button Click to Move all Folders and Files selected from the Folder & File Display
    4. Copy Button Click to Copy all Folders and Files selected from the Folder & File Display
    5. Delete Button Click to Delete all Folders and Files selected from the Folder & File Display
  3. Pagination Below the Menubar on the left is the Pagination, which displays when necessary to navigate through the list of Folders and Files if there are more than can be displayed on the page at one time (number to be displayed per page is determined by the Per Page Dropdown-see Display Options below).
  4. Display Options Below the Menubar on the right are the Display Options for the Folder and File Display below, which consist of:
    1. Display Type Dropdown Used to change the way the Folders and Files are displayed. Choose either Gallery or Image List (see Folder & File Display below).
    2. Per Page Dropdown Changing the Per Page Dropdown allows you to change how many Folders and Files display on the page at one time
  5. Folder & File Display Displays all of the Folder(s) and/or File(s) within the open Folder. Folder contents are arranged in alphabetical order by default with Folders appearing first, followed by Files. There are two different layouts in which you can view the contents: Gallery and Image List. The Image List has more information about each Folder or File, while the Gallery allows you to view more Files and/or Folders on the screen by hiding non-critical information, so that each item takes up less space.     Gallery Display

    The Folder View Gallery Display consists of the following elements:

    Folders

    1. Folder Image The image representing the Folder. Click on the Image to open the Folder
    2. Checkbox Check the box to select this Folder
    3. Folder Name The name of the Folder. Click on the Folder Name to edit it.
    4. Download Link Click to initiate the Downloading of the Folder and its contents

    Files

    1. File Thumbnail Image The image representing the File. It may be a default image, one created by Wiredrive based on the file itself, or one uploaded by a User. Clicking on the File Thumbnail will open the File Detail page for that File.
    2. Approval Count Displays a tally of how many times each Approval Status value has been set for a File. These indicators (up to 3) will appear over the bottom right corner of the File Thumbnail Image as small squares matching the color of each Approval Status that was set. The number inside the squares indicate how many times each value has been set for that File. Approval Status can be set by Wiredrive Users or Presentation recipients.
    3. Checkbox Check the box to select this File
    4. File Number A temporary number assigned to each File according to the order it is found in the current list- to be used as a quick way to identify a specific File
    5. File Name The name of the File, including the File extension. Click on the File Name to edit it
    6. Download Link Click to initiate the Downloading of the File
    7. Approval Status Icons Click on an icon to Set Approval Status for the File

     

    Image List Display

    The Folder View Image List Display consists of the following elements:

    Folders

    1. Folder Image The image representing the Folder. Click on the Image to open the Folder
    2. Checkbox Check the box to select this Folder
    3. Folder Name The name of the Folder. Click on the Name to edit it
    4. Folders The number of Files inside this Folder
    5. Files The number of Files inside this Folder
    6. Modified The date and time the Folder was last modified
    7. Folder Description The Description for the Folder, if one was added
    8. Download Link Click to initiate the Downloading of the Folder and its contents

    Files

    1. File Thumbnail Image The image representing the File. It may be a default image, one created by Wiredrive based on the file itself, or one uploaded by a User. Clicking on the File Thumbnail will open the File Detail page for that File.
