Folder Tree Panel

The Folder Tree Panel primarily functions as a way to view and navigate through the contents of a selected Project, and open the Folders and Files inside. It also contains the functionality to create a new Folder in that Project, as well as the ability to select and open a different Project.

 

> To view the Folder Tree Panel, open the Project Home Page or Project Folder Page for a Project and the Folder Tree Panel will be on the left

 

The Folder Tree Panel contains the following elements:

  1. Panel Header The Panel Header is the grey area at the top of the Panel. It consists of:
    1. My Projects Dropdown A dropdown containing all your currently available Projects. Select a Project from the dropdown to open it
  2. Menubar The Menubar consists of:
    1. New Folder Button Click to Create a New Folder in the Project
    2. Project Home Button Click to return to the Project Home Page. This button will only appear once you have opened a Folder
    3. Report Button Click to open the Project Report
  3. Folder Tree Like your computer’s file management system, Wiredrive uses Folders to organize the Files in each Project. Folders and Files are displayed in alphabetical order, with Folders always appearing above Files. The Folder Tree consists of:
    1. Project Icon & Name The name of the currently open Project. The Project Name always appears at the top of the Folder Tree. Click on the Project Name to view the contents of the Project in the Folder View Panel on the right, where you can manage the Folders and Files and view them in more detail.
    2. Folder Icons & Names A Name and a Folder Icon for every Folder in the currently open Project. If a Folder in the Tree contains Files or sub-Folders, it will display a gray plus icon [+] to the left of the Folder Name. Click on the icon to expand the Folder. Once expanded, the icon will change to a blue minus icon [-]. Click on the minus icon to collapse the Folder. The number in parenthesis after the Folder Name indicates how many Files are in that Folder. This number does not include any Files that may be in sub-Folders within that Folder. Click on the Name of a Folder to view its contents the Folder View Panel on the right, where you can manage its contents and view them in more detail.
    3. File Icons & Names A Name and a File Icon for every File in the currently open Project. Click on the File Name to open the File Detail Page for that File, which will open a new window.
    4. Trash Icon & Name The Trash Icon and Name will always appear at the bottom of the Folder Tree. It is a special folder which holds all the Files that have been deleted from the Project. Click on the Trash Name to open the Trash Panel, where you can view, recover or permanently delete the Files.
    5. Empty Button If there are Files in the Project Trash, this button will appear to the right of the Trash at the bottom of the Folder Tree. Click to Empty the Trash. This will permanently delete all Files currently in the Trash.
